FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE
PUT ON YOUR HEADSET AND GET TO WORK!
As part of the mixed reality experience, the players take on the role of several companies in the Wiener Stadtwerke Group – on a symbolic and playful level – which, as a whole and with the support of the population, are helping to bring about the climate transition in the city by 2040.
The game is played in three games that deal with different topics and turn various locations within Vienna into a playing field that needs to be “improved” or made fit for the future. Gamification and fun are clearly the focus here, but knowledge transfer is not completely ignored either. An elaborate production that uses all the possibilities of modern mixed reality experiences, such as controller-less gameplay via hand tracking, ensures an experience that you won’t soon forget.
SOLAR PUZZLE
ABOVE THE ROOFTOPS OF VIENNA
The game principle of the first game “Solar Puzzle” is loosely inspired by an immortal video game classic whose name begins with T and ends with S – but with a gigantic twist: Our players find themselves Godzilla-sized in different areas of their city and now have the task of equipping the roofs of the buildings around them with photovoltaic panels. They have to use their puzzle skills to “stick” the different shapes on the roofs within a time limit so that no empty spaces remain. In this way, the players progress through three levels in a delightful diorama style that leave no chance for climate change or boredom to set in.
TRAFFIC BUSTER
ON THE STREETS OF VIENNA
In the second game called “Traffic Buster”, the players still feel huge, but they are now one level lower, so to speak. They stand between the urban canyons of Vienna and now have a good view of the (initially still rather wild) traffic at their feet. Their task now is to ensure less private car traffic and more e-mobility on Vienna’s streets. This can be achieved by catching the cars by hand and throwing them into a funnel. The connected traffic transformer generates a modern Wiener Linien e-bus for every ten cars captured, which the players can immediately put on the road. With every bus that is integrated into the transport network, traffic calms down and the city is one step closer to the climate transition.
GEO DRILLER
IN THE UNDERWORLD OF VIENNA
The third game “Geo Driller” actually takes us deep into Vienna’s underground. At the beginning, our players are confronted with an impressive mixture of arcade cabinet and showcase equipped with two joysticks. The glass showcase contains a three-dimensional representation of a fascinating geothermal project that is planned in Aspern: the aim is to drill two holes deep into the ground in order to tap a thermal water reservoir at a depth of around three kilometers as a source of energy. While the players learn more about this project, they can use the joysticks to manually drill the two boreholes themselves and then even use a pump to bring the thermal water to the surface.
